Traditional Usage

The native people of Melville and Bathurst Island have traditionally used Australian Blue Cypress for thousands of years by crushing plant leaves, branches and bark for use as a hygienic wash,  often the leaves and branches were burnt at camp fires to deter little pests of dusk and dawn. Plant pieces were also heated to inhale plant vapours, to take advantage of its properties.

Early European Usage

The tree’s timber was widely used for house construction around Darwin, the timber is termite resistant, the first timber was milled in 1876. This timber was used to build the main government building of the day, in Darwin.
Resin of the Australian Blue Cypress, called Australian Sandarac and was used for coating ‘gastro-resistant’ capsules, as the capsules did not dissolve in people’s stomach.

    :

Your Australian Blue Cypress oil was great for a unsightly lump on the back on my hand. It was a lump which regular doctor’s burning treatment failed to rid, however after applying 1 neat drop of Australian Blue Cypress oil to the lump once every 2 or 3 days for 2 weeks, I saw the complete eradication of the lump, a big thanks to your Australian Blue Cypress oil
